MUD is a fun, free-thinking creative day of collaborative imagination that looks at sites identified as for potential Metro stations, exploring their character and function, and imagining how the new Metro connectivity might stimulate the future improvement and development of the area.
The MUD event is open to all who have an interest in the future vision of South East Wales. We want designers, artists, planners and engineers to unite with members of local communities to discuss how the opportunities created around the new Metro stations could best serve local needs and enhance the quality of the area.
MUD will take place on Saturday, 24th September in Cardiff Bay. Participants will be grouped into small, mixed teams and assigned one possible future station. The morning will involve a visit to that site (please bring a coat just in case!), and the afternoon will involve working in your team to imagine how a future Metro station at that site might enable change, opportunities and improvement in the surrounding areas.
Food will be provided for all throughout the day, including coffee/pastries on arrival by 9:30am, lunch and dinner (with a licenced bar) at the end of each group’s presentation. Thanks to our sponsors, your ticket includes drinks & pastries on arrival, lunch, dinner and (soft) drinks during the day, as well as travel to and from the proposed station sites, workshop materials and similar. Your bar-tab in the evening is your own, we’re afraid!
Tickets are only being charged for to minimise “no show” bookings for the event and are non-refundable. Ticket income will go to charity.
