Meeting with Cardiff Transition
Meeting with Cardiff Transition
Cardiff Transition 13 July Event
The Transition movement is spreading like wildfire. People across the UK and further afield are taking up the challenge of creating, an alternative future for their community - one that responds positively to the twin challenges of climate change and the end of cheap oil.
Cardiff Transition Project seeks to bring this movement to Cardiff. It is an initiative for and by the people of Cardiff. Its aim is to plan how we can create a positive future in the face of these two environmental challenges, resulting in a city which is low energy, low carbon, sustainable, healthy and happy.
July 13th 2010 saw the first Show, Share & Tell session in Zero Degrees, Cardiff’s microbrewery. The event, coordinated by the Cardiff Transition Project (CTP), attracted nearly 50 people who came to hear about a wide variety of projects that are helping transform Cardiff into a sustainable city.
Those who attended heard about Friends of Insole Court, Canton Carbon Cutters, Taff’s Well Community Garden, Co-housing Cymru, Food Fight and Feed the 5000, peterdcox@mac.com, Friends of Clare Gardens, Orchard Cardiff and Cardiff Civic Society.
Peter Cox, Chair of Cardiff Civic Society gave a two minute pitch before hosting two round-table sessions about the Cardiff Local Development Plan. You can hear his talk by clicking the arrow.
